Welcome to Whitesbury Academy for the Gifted. Here students from around the globe come to master their abilities to manipulate the elements--water, fire, ice, earth, plant life, electricity, psychic energy and dark energy.

While the school offers a chance to perfect their arts, it also runs classes that a normal school would teach, as to keep the children focused and ready for the future. However, a threat looms in the darkness that may threaten the school, and the outside world.

The Black Hand, named after the rebel group from history, is a group of mutants that intends to use their powers for their own gains, and will stop at nothing to achieve what they want--even if it means eliminating those mutants who use their abilities for good. Thus, Whitesbury Academy has become a prime target for this renegade group, and the attack only waits...

With the Black Hand defeated after a gruesome battle with deaths on both sides, the students can recover knowing the Hand has been too crippled to strike again anytime soon. What other threats lay outside the realms of the brick walls? What other forces are out there to take the mutants of the world down?

The initial reaction to the break-out in the mutant holding facility has died down, but the country still pushes for protection. Anti-mutant protests are taking place country-wide, and the public is pushing for more legislation. The government, after the mutant break-out, is hesitant. Riots are also becoming common.

The School
Snow falls on the school during the holiday season, while the students carry on their normal lives after the damages done by the spontaneous Hand attack were fixed. Winter break is here, and some students have returned home for the holidays.
